He is known for his distinctive and powerful vocals, as well as the often dark and twisted content of his lyrics. The stage name of Evvy Pedder was chosen by Redrup as a play on the term "heavy petting", another nod to the band's lyrical content & theme, and teasing sexual undertones. ==Early career== In 1996, Evvy became a member of a band known at the time as "Candy Killers" which had been playing together since 1994 and already included Dr. Distorto, Dead Greg, D.Human, and Bloody Sunday. Evvy gave the band part of its name at least when he read aloud to the other band members one evening a description of serial killer John Wayne Gacy in the Encyclopedia of Serial Killers (a book owned by Dead Greg) as a 'lust killer'.
